Mark has raced all over the US and the world. He has volunteered at races, designed and vetted courses, learned to navigate (and wrote a book on it), helped start the Adventure Racing Cooperative, and organized fifteen or twenty races with his wife Lora under the TanZ Navigation label.
Rich is an avid rock climber, scuba diver, sky diver, traveler and adventurer. He has studied anthropology, archaeology, and culture extensively.
Jen has been coaching athletes of all levels around the globe for over a decade. Through a personalized approach, her athletes compete, participate and achieve top results in ultra running, mountaineering, triathlons, mountain bike races, road cycling, standup paddle boarding and adventure races.
Mike has worked as a wildlife biologist, hydrologist, environmental engineer, outdoor adventurer and wilderness guide throughout the West. Mike has enjoyed paddle-sports for 30 years and was an early adopter of inflatable watercraft and paddles most of the time with his Australian Cattle Dog - Zano, who is an accomplished Class IV boater. Mike now resides near Glenwood, NM, one of the gateways to the Gila Wilderness and several prime Southwest paddling waters, where he now instructs packraft courses.
Alaska Coastal Safety offers small group and custom courses in Wilderness Medicine, First Aid, CPR, EMS, and risk management training & consulting year round. Seasonally we focus on offering Winter & Avalanche Safety Training, and Paddle Sports training progressions for entry level paddlers through Guide Training & Certification.
