The Ultra-light series packrafts are made from thinner, lighter coated fabrics, so they are not recommended for whitewater or other demanding water sports.

Ultra-Light Packraft

The Minnow is an ultra-light, easy-to-fold packraft built from ultra-thin coated fabric. The hull weighs just 3 lb (1.5 kg), rising to 4 lb (1.85 kg) when fully equipped. Despite the ultra-light design, the Minnow offers both front and rear seating positions to improve glide on the water, and a reinforced floor protects the most exposed areas of the hull. The ultra-thin material also packs down beautifully.

The white finish is a deliberate choice: it reflects more sunlight than darker colors, so the boat heats up less and shows smaller internal air-pressure fluctuations — particularly useful outdoors. Olive is a discreet, nature-blending color; its coating is slightly thicker than the white version’s, improving scratch resistance while remaining light and easy to fold.

Notes

  • White fabric is more prone to UV-induced yellowing than darker colors. Some gradual yellowing over long-term use is unavoidable — please consider this when choosing the color.
  • Because the coating is very thin, consider carefully before using the Minnow for whitewater or other demanding activities.
  • The floor is a high-weave 210D fabric chosen for maximum foldability; our testing confirms it handles general water sports well.
  • Batch weights may vary by ±1.5%.
  • Measurements may vary slightly with temperature and material variation; this is normal.
  • Use the skeg to improve tracking while paddling.

Water-filled footrest

Function:
Water held inside the footrest adds weight to the bow, reducing yaw and pitching while paddling. Because it produces less drag than a bow-mounted skeg, it delivers smoother and more efficient forward motion.

Water-filling procedure:

Step 1: Submerge the footrest

1. Submerge the footrest to scoop water inside. If the water level is low, use a paddle to help.

Step 2: Check markings for water volume

2. Use the markings inside the footrest to gauge the desired water volume.

Step 3: Fold and seal the footrest

3. Fold and seal the open end of the footrest.

Step 4: Release air from the hose

4. Lay the footrest flat with the base of the hose slightly raised.
Open the hose valve to release air. When the water in the transparent hose rises above roughly one-third of its height, close the valve.

Step 5: Fold again and secure

5. Fold the end over again and secure it tightly.

Step 6: Place firmly at the front of the hull

6. Place the footrest at the very front of the hull and press it firmly into position. It serves as both ballast and a foot support.

Warning

Important Notes:

Fold the tail end of the footrest at least four times to ensure a proper seal.

Release as much air as possible through the upper hose. Trapped air will let the water slosh, which can significantly reduce stability.

Excess air also increases the risk of ballast water leaking out.
